Power Density

FiberMedia delivers leading edge data center power, cooling and energy efficiencies.

Whether you need simple rack space or workspace to maintain staff onsite, you can count on each FiberMedia colocation facility to satisfy your demands through power, cooling and energy efficiency solutions.

To maintain our status as a network of SAS70 Type2 audited primary and disaster recovery sites, every FiberMedia data center provides highly secure and robust facilities with N+1 or 2N redundancy for both power and cooling.  Each center provides uninterruptible, fully-conditioned electrical power at minimum N+1 /99.999 service levels from two separate power grid feeds.  Backup is furnished by multiple diesel generators connected to 72-hour capable fuel tanks supplied by a preferential fuel contract, and secured within protected locations.

FiberMedia adheres to very strict design standards in our cooling solutions, including hot/cold row designs, duct structures to move hot air back into computer room air-conditioning units from the hottest points and advanced air-flow tiles to provide high-availability units with the air flow necessary to perform efficiently. Cooling operates at N+1 redundancy with 120% over-capacity to ensure constant, correct levels of temperature and humidity. Redundant chill water-based systems are used with computer room air-conditioning units to deliver a minimum 120 BTUs per square foot maintained at a maximum 48% humidity.

FiberMedia utilizes several models including Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and its reciprocal, Data Center Infrastructure Efficiency (DCiE) metrics, which enable us to quickly estimate the infrastructure energy efficiency of our data centers, compare and determine the benefits of energy efficiency improvements within our as-built models and real-time effectiveness.

You can count on FiberMedia to always utilize best practices, industry standards and introduce power, cooling and technology improvements to provide our clients with the most efficient colocation data centers.
